I was talking to a friend in the toy industry and he reckons that toys in these lists can sell 4 times as many as if they were not listed. Not sure what this means for Lulu My Cuddlin Kitty but you have to say it seems likely that there might be one or two disappointed people this year.

My advice – get shopping now and use our links for the best prices.

Argos are usually pretty accurate with their list as they sell so many items every year. From the point of view of this site what is in interesting is that Lulu My Cuddlin Kitty is right up there at number 2. Of course I think that is ridiculous and would have Lulu as number 1.

Looking at the rest of the list I also like the bounce n spin zebra from Fisher Price. We have a link to that on the left. That toy is aimed at younger toddlers. Lulu My Cuddlin Kitty is of course designed for children who are a bit older.

Another thing that stands out from the list is the number of animal toys. There is no doubt that pets and animals are going to be very popular toys for Christmas and beyond.

How realistic are these things!!  When I was a kid the best you could get was a teddy bear with a sort of marble in the eye that moved about a bit.  Now any child has to have a toy that does things like this. It purrs, rolls over, simulates licking and cleaning etc etc.

You have to ask whether in the future these sorts of artificial pets will actually become more popular than real ones.  They are becoming more and more lifelike every year and with advances in AI I am sure their interaction levels will improve still further.

Also they are of course extremely popular with parents becuase when the child gets a bit bored of their new “pet” they are not left with the feeding and cleaning duties.

Maybe we should be worried about this development.  Owning and looking after a pet is an important lesson to learn for a child, teaching responsbilitiy and selflessness.

As it stand today though there is still just  enough “toy” in the Lulu My Cuddlin Kitty for this not to be problem and it is destined to be a great seller this Christmas, but in the future will a million Lulus replace all our current Tiggers, Bellas and Charlies…..
